Fissure Sealing

The chewing surface of teeth has natural grooves — fissures. In certain situations they can be sealed to create a better-protected surface in areas that need preventive care.

At Microclinic, sealing is done for teens as well as for adults when indicated.

The procedure can be used on intact fissures and in cases of early-stage changes, if the doctor determines after examination that this approach suits the specific tooth.

Before sealing, the tooth surface is prepared and cleaned. The working area is always isolated with a rubber dam, after which the sealant is applied and the result is checked.

The procedure is usually done in a single visit.
