Root Canal Treatment

When the problem is inside the tooth, it matters to properly address what's impossible to see with the naked eye

Root canal treatment is needed when the process already involves the tooth's inner tissue and its canal system. Before starting, the doctor runs diagnostics and assesses the tooth's condition together with an X-ray.

Treatment is done under anesthesia. The tooth is always isolated with a rubber dam, and all the main steps are performed under a microscope. This lets the doctor work precisely and control even the parts of the canal system that are hard to see without magnification.

After gaining access to the root canals, the doctor cleans and shapes them, then fills the canals. The result is checked with an X-ray. The final step is a temporary or permanent restoration of the tooth, depending on the specific clinical situation.

Throughout treatment, the doctor explains what's happening at each step and answers the patient's questions. The number of visits is determined individually and depends on the condition of the specific tooth.

Root Canal Retreatment

Retreatment is needed when a tooth has already had endodontic treatment but the problem has persisted or come back.

In this situation, the doctor accesses the canal system, removes the old filling material, and re-examines the canals under the microscope. Special attention goes to areas that may have been left untreated during the previous treatment, as well as any additional or structurally complex canals.

After cleaning and reprocessing, the canal system is filled again, and the result is checked with an X-ray. Further restoration of the tooth depends on its condition and is part of the overall treatment plan.

Pulpitis and Periodontitis Treatment

Pulpitis occurs when the inflammatory process reaches the tooth's inner tissue. Periodontitis is when the process has already spread beyond the root canal to the tissue around the root.

In both cases, the doctor's task is to locate and thoroughly treat the entire canal system, remove the source of inflammation, and create the conditions to save the tooth.

Treatment is performed with mandatory rubber dam isolation and under a microscope. After cleaning and shaping, the canals are filled, and the result is checked with an X-ray.

The approach and number of visits depend on the condition of the tooth and the surrounding tissue, so the doctor determines the final plan after diagnostics.
